Thursday 13: Bring on the random

While setting the time on the microwave the other day I accidentally pressed too long on a button and all of a sudden the entire control panel was LOCKED.
I didn’t know there was a LOCK option for the control panel.
Yesterday morning I saw a line of rainbows in my vision.
At first I thought it was from being outside, but soon realized it was the start of a migraine.
I finally saw what they refer to as an aura!!!!
But then again, what follows an aura is a migraine — bummer.
Excedrin Migraine to the rescue (but I only had one pill).
I’m taking two today “just in case”.
I did a pretty good six mile run yesterday, outside because the weather was awesome!
I have to skip the group run tonight because someone (not me) desperately needs a haircut.
We are out of the following items in my house: milk and hair conditioner.
Breakfast is at Starbucks today.
Not sure how long we can go without the hair conditioner.

Thursday Thirteen: Vacation Staycation

I’m on vacation this week and all it’s done is rain.
Between the rain I’ve gone for a 10 mile bike ride, 5 mile run, and 3 mile run.
And I ran the Superun 5K last night.
I set a personal record for the course and all of my 5K’s of all-time.
If you would have told me that I would PR on that course I would have laughed in your face due to very big hill that is at the end of the course.
I’ve watched a lot of Wimbledon.
Walked the dogs.
Vacuumed the house many times.
Baked banana chocolate chip bread.
And apple cinnamon dog treats.
Dyed my hair using Lush henna for the first time ever.
Henna is incredibly messy, but the results are good.
And have mastered the fine art of taking a nap.

Thursday Thirteen: I accidentally signed up to run Ragnar

Yesterday I happened to be on Twitter at the exact same time that one of my Twitter friends @jenn_if_er said: I will NEVER again offer to be the captain of a relay team. Never.
Which of course I responded: how bad was it?
And she said: Relay is in 2 weeks. people keep dropping out.
And before I knew it, I was all signed up to run three legs of the Ragnar Relay from Madison to Chicago on June 10th-11th.
I’m runner #1.
Which means I’m running legs 1, 13 and 25.
I can’t believe I’m doing this.
But I’m pretty excited about it too!
My second leg is in Waukesha, so come on out and cheer for me!
My third leg will be in Racine.
At super-duper-early-o’clock on Saturday morning.
I’ll probably be crabby.
You might want to stay home for that leg.

(And of course I say accidentally because if I wouldn’t have seen the tweet, the moment would have passed and I’d never have known about it. I think it’s going to be a lot of fun!)
