today we went for a hike in the Kettle Moraine Forest, Southern Unit

it was going really well

we met a little yellow butterfly

and she sat on Zoe’s finger

then we let Maisy lead the way

we hiked for 20 minutes before we realized that we were no longer on the right set of trails
and we had to turn around and go back

Zoe wasn’t too excited about that
but at least I got to take a picture of this arc shaped tree

but our 3 mile hike turned into more than we had time for
it was 12:45 p.m. and my husband had to be to work at 1:45 p.m.
and we didn’t even know where the car was

but this tree was pretty cool

1 hour and 57 minutes after we started, we finally got back to the car

It’s a good thing I took so many pictures
I don’t think we’ll be hiking through the Kettle Moraine Forest in Eagle, WI again

It looks so beautiful! Although I guess not quite as beautiful when you are trying to get back to civilization on a deadline. Wonder why I have not gone there hiking yet? Only a couple hours away from me…
Mingle on!
that picture of your daughter is hilarious!!!
